"Successful Paris debut for Maria José Siri with Gregory Kunde at TCE
Maria José Siri makes her French debut at the Théâtre des Champs-Élysées in a Verdi recital with Gregory Kunde and the Orchestra of the Teatro Comunale Bologna. An evening ended with an ovation.
... her high notes ... are impressive, triumphant (on "Pace mio Dio" from La forza del destino she begins in an unbreakable thread of voice that flourishes to fill the hall and cause an ovation). All the more so since these high notes, this voice and this recital are supported, from the beginning to the end, by the impressively low resonances of the singer. All the notes are anchored and even when she uses (and abuses) jerks towards the grave, she does not plunge towards the voice of chest but leans on her resonators, preserving its roundness until its high notes.  Especially since she always overflows the volume of the orchestra (which can thus be carried away in natural élans fortissimi).
"Pur ti riveggo, mia dolce Aida" sings Kunde to Siri, sings Radamès to Aida (Well, I'll see you again!). Surely the public would like to say the same and see again in France an artist with such a successful debut in loco, who sings in Germany, Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Spain, Italy, Japan, Monaco, Switzerland, but not yet in France. She who often sings "A beautiful dì, vedremo" of Madame Butterfly: "One fine day, we will see".

“But it's not just the program that has charm! At charming level, it is Maria José Siri who wins the match handily. The Uruguayan soprano charmed us from the beginning of the show and held us in her power, completely bewitched until the end. It must be said that her voice is beautiful, clear and pure and his duets with the tenor Gregory Kunde emphasized even more the vocal power of Maria Jose Siri (…) So we had beautiful balanced duets when they sang together. Their solo performance was also admirable, of course!”
