Il Trovatore, Firenze, Teatro del Maggio Musicale Fiorentino, September 2022

...Maria José Siri interpreted a Leonora of great theatrical and vocal openness. She also came out well in the delicate performance of the cavatina D'amor sull'ali rosee."
GDM

"María José Siri, in the guise of Leonora, with a beautiful round, full-bodied and homogeneous timbre, gives us the image of a strong, sweet and sensitive lover at the same time. She enriches her interpretation as the opera develops, with well-played pianissimi, captivating mezze voci and confident, solid and effective high notes.
She comes out as a winner and she is convincing, as both singer and actress, phrasing with emotion and precision particularly in the last act: starting from the aria “D'amor sull'ali rosee” to “Tu vedrai che amore in terra”, passing through the wonderful Miserere,..., she gets one of the warmest open-stage applause of the evening, repeated during the final curtain calls."
Il trillo parlante

"María José Siri, as Leonora, has brilliance, resonance and colours to spare..."
L’Ape musicale

"Speaking of the cast ... the Uruguayan soprano returns to Florence with Leonora, another role that boasts her wide repertoire. Siri demonstrates that she does possess a voice with a good agility and an equally admirable staccato, as showcased in the cabaletta of the first act "Di tale amor", as well as towards the end of the opera with Prima che d'altri vivere. Here, the difficulty of the score is intertwined with the drama
that she perfectly incarnates thanks to the versatility of her accents, sweet and gentle at first and immediately ready to change into sad and touching right after..."
Gli amici della musica

"...Maria José Siri was a confident Leonora with a soaring voice, alongside (Fabio Sartori’s Manrico)..."
La nazione

"Maria José Siri's Leonora is sorrowful and passionate, in a full-bodied and majestic flow of sound. She seems to perform “Tacea la notte placida” in a state of ecstasy, confidently showing off a well-rounded singing and extraordinary well-sustained notes. She performs the cabalettas with ease... and she is intensely dramatic in the recitative of the “Miserere”, in a lofty and tormented stance."
Opera libera

"María José Siri – recently heard in Florence (Trittico Pucciniano,
Nabucco, Adriana Lecouvreur, I due Foscari) which will be interpreting the role of Elvira in Ernani soon – was a very effective Eleonora: the voice is beautiful, it has a good colour and it is resonant in the upper octave. She gets to the end of her very long and difficult part with ease..."
